After completing her studies in economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, Andrea pursued an Executive Masters of Business Administration. This advanced degree equipped her with the strategic and analytical skills necessary to succeed in the business world.

Andrea's global perspective was further enhanced through her many years educating students of all ages in Japan and the United States, where she lived, worked and studied, gaining valuable insights into international business practices.

However, it was Andrea's time spent in the Canadian Arctic working for the Government of Northwest Territories that truly honed her expertise and leadership abilities. Rising through the organization, she held the esteemed position of Assistant Deputy Minister, where she navigated complex political landscapes and provided invaluable support to government officials.

For many years, Andrea had the unique opportunity to live in several rural and remote Indigenous communities in the Arctic. This immersive experience fostered deep connections and a profound understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by these communities.

In 2018, Andrea made the decision to return to her roots in Waterloo and embark on a new venture. She founded Knowledge Council Inc., a business consulting firm specializing in providing support to territorial governments. Andrea's expertise and strategic guidance has been instrumental in helping these governments navigate complex issues in Indigenous populations.

Shortly after, Andrea crossed paths with Giuseppe, a talented stylist with a keen business acumen. Recognizing Giuseppe's exceptional skills and entrepreneurial spirit, Andrea saw an opportunity to combine their strengths and create something truly special.

Together, as co-owners of Barranca Boutique Salon, Andrea and Giuseppe form a dynamic partnership. Introducing Giuseppe, co-owner and Salon Director with an impressive 17 years of experience in the industry. His journey to becoming a top-tier professional began with advanced training at renowned institutions such as Vidal Sassoon, Framesii, and Kaaral.

Giuseppe's talent and dedication were evident from a young age. At just 18 years old, he placed in the top ten for Ontario Hairstylist of the Year, showcasing his exceptional skills and creativity. The following year, he continued to make waves by placing in the top ten in both Ontario and Quebec.

His career continued to soar from 2013 to 2015, as Giuseppe was appointed as the Artistic Director of Kaaral Canada at the age of 23. From 2015 to 2018, Giuseppe took on the role of a Kaaral World Team Educating hairstylist. This position took him around the globe, where he ran international runway style shows and participated in photoshoots in exotic locations such as Indonesia, Italy, Germany, Qatar, the USA, and Canada. His work during this time solidified his reputation as a true master of his craft.

Her favourite colour, however, is not a single shade but a spectrum - the rainbow. This love for the rainbow is evident in her creations, where she often uses a vibrant mix of colours that blend seamlessly into each other, much like a rainbow.

Tanya is also skilled in the art of hair cutting for women and children, allowing her to bring her artistic vision to life through the medium of hair. I am a proud alumni of the College of Makeup Art and Design, where I honed my skills in various areas such as hair styling, fashion makeup, theatre makeup, film and TV makeup, as well as special effects and prosthetics. Additionally, I am a certified MAC makeup artist, having completed my training at the esteemed Voila Institute.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working on photoshoots and fashion shows for renowned celebrity fashion brands. My expertise is in bridal and event makeup, where I have the ability to create stunning looks that enhance natural beauty and leave a lasting impression.

My journey into the world of makeup began during my ten-year tenure as a competitive dancer. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion for makeup and its transformative power. From full glam to a more natural look, I possess the versatility to cater to any style or preference.
